About Embodied Myth
Embodied Myth is a Melbourne based astrology practice offering consultations in birth-chart interpretation, relationship compatibility and yearly forecasting. Embodied Myth astrology provides modern people with a language, so as to better frame their experiences in the midst of ever increasing chaos and confusion. My goal is to increase your self-knowledge so you can grow in confidence, stability and creative expansion.
Embodied Myth also offers astrological classes, workshops and education opportunities in Melbourne. These are aimed at developing astrology as world-view beyond popularised trends and algorithms. This gives students an opportunity to develop their intuition, imagination and insight through practices of observation, contemplation and self-awareness.
Astrology as a Poetic Language
Astrology moves us from a mechanistic universe to a poetic, symbolic one.
As the planets move through their cycles, they form various geometrical relationships with each other relative to the Earth within the larger cosmic environment. These alignments are observed to coincide with specific patterns in human lives.
This acknowledges that the cosmos is an embodiment of creative intelligence, purpose and meaning that is in relationship to human experience.
Meaning that there are intelligent forces far beyond our comprehension – and the best we can do is to mark the correspondences and listen.
About Leyla
Based in Melbourne, Australia. The astrology I employ is naturally place-based.
I do this through telling stories of what it means to be human in an age of increasing uncertainty, conflict and strife.
As a natural philosopher, I am curious as to how to live ethically, and how to come back to the lessons of our ancestors to help us build the foundations for a transformed culture.
I am currently completing my Diploma of Astrology with the Federation of Australian Astrologers and I am a proud member of the Victorian Association of Astrologers.
My Educational Approach
- My teaching is informed by poetry, philosophy and depth psychology.
- In my classes, I encourage students to explore modern myths, unexamined histories and powerful archetypal patterns that shape our human experiences.
- Courses engage both intuitive exploration and critical thinking, offering up tools to interpret astrology with depth, compassion and imagination.
- I believe that it is through re-orientating ourselves within and amongst an alive world that we can begin to find our true paths out of this collective madness.
My Consultation Approach
- I will interpret symbols in the chart that represent the map of your being. They may or may not resonate with your lived experience. There is an element of mystery to the process – that allows for a sense of a witness to your life.
- This witness observes from a third person point of view – allowing you to take stock of yourself from afar; away from the intimacy of subjectivity.
- It’s a mix between technical skill and intuitive art. The technical aspect comes from the language of symbols – interpreting them in relation to one another; the intuition comes from drawing them together to form a cohesive picture.
- Astrology utilises techniques that are philosophical in origin and examines the narrative we build from the experiences of our life. It is these explanations that are influenced by the animate world in which we are a part of.
